    SEM held a faculty and staff meeting on the afternoon of March 4 in Room B108. The meeting was attended by Li Xinchun, Party Secretary of SEM; Ding Zhihua, Dean of SEM; Liu Ning, Deputy Party Secretary; Jiang Hongyan and Ran Hongtao, Associate Deans; along with all faculty and staff members. The meeting was chaired by Party Secretary Li Xinchun.

    Dean Ding Zhihua delivered a comprehensive briefing on the School’s key priorities for 2026, aligned with the university’s strategic directives. He outlined several major initiatives. First, SEM will further refine its 15th Five-Year Development Plan, clarifying priority tasks, key performance indicators, and responsibility allocation. Second, the School will continue optimizing its disciplinary and program structure, actively promoting the application for a doctoral program in Business Administration, advancing program transformation, and updating the Energy Development Report Blue Book.

    Third, the School will strengthen talent recruitment and development, broaden recruitment channels, and reinforce the strategy of building a talent-driven institution. Fourth, SEM will enhance organized research efforts, focusing on national strategies, industry needs, and regional economic development, while accelerating the construction of think tank platforms to support disciplinary innovation.

    Fifth, the School will deepen undergraduate education reform, innovate talent cultivation models, dynamically adjust program structures, and further strengthen the development of national first-class and provincial flagship programs. Sixth, SEM will promote the high-quality development of graduate education, strengthen the graduate supervisor team, and reinforce supervisors’ primary responsibility in graduate training to improve both student recruitment quality and training outcomes.

    Seventh, the School will continue strengthening the academic culture and learning environment, improving education mechanisms and building a new talent cultivation model suited to the demands of the new era. Eighth, SEM will advance its internationalization strategy, enhancing its global engagement and influence in higher education. Ninth, the School will further improve its governance and administrative services, optimize financial coordination and performance management, promote cost efficiency, and ensure that institutional resources are strategically allocated to areas such as high-level talent recruitment, landmark research achievements, and faculty and staff welfare.

    In his concluding remarks, Party Secretary Li Xinchun emphasized that 2026 marks the opening year of the university’s 15th Five-Year Plan, making it a milestone in the institution’s development. He stressed the importance of achieving a strong start and solid progress at the outset. Focusing on key areas such as scientific research, teaching and learning, talent cultivation, and financial performance, he further elaborated on the School’s major tasks for the new semester. He highlighted the need to concentrate resources on major priorities, optimize resource allocation, and fully unleash the strengths and potential of each faculty member, thereby advancing SEM’s development to a new stage.

    During the meeting, Deputy Party Secretary Liu Ning and Associate Deans Jiang Hongyan and Ran Hongtao also reviewed their respective work from the previous academic year and outlined plans for the coming semester.
