    Professor Chen Jing of Cardiff University visited SEM to Discuss Mayor Cooperation

    On the morning of October 24, Dr. Chen Jing, the representative of external affairs of Cardiff University, visited the School of Economics and Management and had a discussion on cooperative education. Vice Dean Ding Zhihua, Prof. Wang Huaqing, head of the Department of Big Data Management Science, and other relevant teachers attended the symposium.

    At the symposium, Ding Zhihua firstly expressed his warm welcome to Chen Jing. Ding Zhihua and Wang Huaqing introduced the basic situation of the SEM and the department respectively, and discussed in depth many specific matters of the cooperative projects such as joint cultivation, 2024 cultivation program, inter-institutional exchanges, and teachers' mutual visits.

    Chen Jing mainly introduced the general situation of Cardiff University in the UK, and explained in detail the concept of "3+1" and "1+2+1" cooperative education mode for the major of big data management and application, and gave constructive opinions on the revision of the training program and curriculum construction of the major in 2024. She also gave a detailed explanation on the concept of "3+1" and "1+2+1" cooperative mode of education, and put forward constructive opinions on the revision of the cultivation program in 2024 and the construction of curriculum.

    Through the discussion, both sides had a deeper understanding of each other's mode of school running and reached a relatively clear intention of cooperation. Both sides agreed to strengthen the publicity of the cooperation projects in order to promote the smooth development of the cooperation projects, which will surely lay a solid foundation for further promoting the internationalization of our undergraduate teaching.

    At 2:00 pm, Professor Chen Jing gave a lecture entitled "Trading Behavior of Bitcoin Market", introducing their research on different groups or types of Bitcoin users through machine learning and other methods, as well as statistical comparative analysis of the behavior of these traders, and proposing corresponding regulatory countermeasures. Some of our teachers and graduate students listened to the report and had an in-depth discussion with Prof. Chen on the problem discovery, data sources, methodology selection and cutting-edge issues in the field of financial technology.
