On the afternoon of October 17, the Sub-Forum of CUMT 2025 “Yueqi Forum” for International Young Scholars was successfully held in Room B117 of SEM.
This forum gathered 12 outstanding young scholars from renowned universities including Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, Wuhan University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Southeast University, Renmin University of China, Hunan University, and Northeastern University.

Attending the event were Party Secretary Li Xinchun, Dean Ding Zhihua, Vice Deans Jiang Hongyan and Ran Hongtao, along with heads of major disciplines and academic departments. The forum was chaired by Vice Dean Ran Hongtao.

Dean Ding Zhihua first extended a warm welcome and sincere greetings to all the young scholars who had traveled from afar.
He gave a comprehensive overview of the school’s development — from its long-standing history and academic structure to its strong faculty and distinctive disciplinary features — fully demonstrating the school’s profound academic foundation.

Dean Ding emphasized that SEM has always regarded “strengthening the school through talent” as its core development strategy, viewing talent as the primary resource for institutional progress.
He stated that the school is committed to creating an open, inclusive, and innovative academic environment, offering broad development opportunities for young scholars aspiring to pursue research and teaching careers. He expressed his sincere hope for future cooperation between young scholars and the school to create a brighter future together.

Following this, Vice Dean Ran Hongtao gave an in-depth explanation of the school’s talent recruitment policies.
He elaborated on various recruitment pathways — including tenure-track associate professorships, lectureships, Xingjian postdoctoral fellowships, and faculty postdoctoral positions — and provided comparative analyses of compensation packages and career prospects.

Ran emphasized that the school is dedicated to offering competitive benefits and comprehensive support for all incoming young scholars, ensuring a win-win relationship between individual development and institutional growth.

In the next session, the participating young scholars each delivered thematic presentations highlighting their academic backgrounds, research areas, scholarly achievements, and future plans.
They shared unique academic insights, showcased research accomplishments, and demonstrated their exceptional potential in various professional fields.
After the presentations, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as talent recruitment policies, faculty development, research support mechanisms, and long-term career planning.

The successful hosting of this sub-forum not only reflected the school’s strong commitment and strategic focus on talent recruitment, but also built an effective platform for communication and collaboration between the school and outstanding young scholars from China and abroad.
It is believed that in the near future, more talented scholars will join the CUMT SEM, contributing their wisdom and strength to the school’s continued prosperity and development.
