At 4:00 p.m. on September 18, the School of Economics and Management held a briefing session on the 3+1 joint program with the University of Aberdeen, UK, as well as overseas internship opportunities. The session took place in Room B403 of the School building and was delivered by Ms. Chen Xiaoqing, Director of International Partnerships at the University of Aberdeen Business School. Attendees included Jiang Hongyan, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management; Mou Yupeng, Director of the Department of Business Administration; Zhou Hongxiao, Director of the Student Affairs Office; and Zhang Yifan, Director of the China-Canada International MBA Program.

Vice Dean Jiang Hongyan opened the session with a welcome speech, expressing warm greetings to the delegation from the University of Aberdeen Business School and giving high recognition to the overseas programs. She emphasized the importance of these programs in broadening students’ international horizons and enhancing their professional competence. She encouraged students to carefully review the program details, reflect on their personal development goals, and seize this valuable opportunity for learning and growth.

Ms. Chen Xiaoqing introduced the city of Aberdeen, its geographical and cultural context, as well as the University’s campus environment and academic strengths, showcasing both its beautiful setting and robust research capacity. She provided a detailed explanation of the joint bachelor–master program’s structure and advantages, and patiently addressed students’ key concerns regarding admission requirements, scholarships, and daily life. She concluded by sharing four vivid case studies of Aberdeen alumni, highlighting their rich academic and cultural experiences and the achievements gained through overseas internships. These stories greatly inspired students’ interest and enthusiasm for the program.

Professor Mou Yupeng shared his own two-week study tour experience in Aberdeen, underscoring the significance of internationalized education. He urged students to embrace global perspectives, step outside their comfort zones, and immerse themselves in different educational systems and cultural environments to expand their personal and professional horizons.

This briefing session not only provided students with a deeper understanding of overseas study and internship opportunities but also strengthened the platform for cooperation and exchange between the School of Economics and Management and the University of Aberdeen. Looking ahead, more students are expected to take advantage of this bridge to the wider world, embarking on exciting journeys of their own and shining brightly on the international stage.
