From August 25 to 27, 2025, to further advance the high-quality development of economics and management disciplines, diversify and systematize research methods in organizational management, and enhance the academic research and international publication capabilities of young faculty members, the School of Economics and Management at China University of Mining and Technology successfully hosted the “Qualitative Research and Organizational Management Innovation in the Era of Artificial Intelligence” lecture series and paper workshop.
The event was organized by the School of Economics and Management, with support from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange. Three invited experts—Associate Professor Jeremy Aroles from the University of York, Dr. Liang Yin from Newcastle University, and Associate Professor Liu Shubo from the Central University of Finance and Economics—joined faculty and students to conduct in-depth discussions on qualitative research methods, organizational management innovation, and high-level paper publication.
The event covered a variety of activities, including frontier lectures, case discussions, paper workshops, and international cooperation exchanges, attracting wide attention and enthusiastic participation from faculty and students both inside and outside the university. Participants included Professor Sun Ziyuan, head of the Business Administration discipline; Professor Chen Feiyu, Director of the Office of Discipline and Talent Development; Professor Mou Yupeng, Head of the Department of Business Administration; Professor Liu Manzhi, Head of the Marketing Program; Professor Yue Ting, Head of the Human Resource Management Program; Associate Professors Wang Dianwen and Yu Haimao from the Department of Business Administration; more than 20 newly appointed young faculty members in recent years; as well as graduate and undergraduate students.

On the morning of August 28, Professor Jiang Hongyan, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management, received Associate Professor Jeremy Aroles from the University of York and Dr. Liang Yin from Newcastle University in Conference Room B503 and held a meeting on Sino-foreign cooperative education. Participants also included Professor Yue Ting, Party Branch Secretary of the Department of Business Administration and Head of the Human Resource Management Program; Zhang Yifan, Director of the Sino-Canadian MBA Program; as well as faculty members Yu Haimao, Li Zongbo, and Zhang Jiexuan from the Department of Business Administration.
At the meeting, Vice Dean Jiang extended a warm welcome to the two experts and introduced the basic situation of the School’s undergraduate education and international cooperation. The two sides then held preliminary discussions on specific matters related to joint undergraduate training, inter-school exchanges, faculty visits, and summer internships. Through the meeting, both parties gained a deeper understanding of each other’s educational models and reached a consensus on strengthening cooperation, jointly promoting the implementation of cooperative projects, which will lay a solid foundation for further enhancing the internationalization of undergraduate education at the School.

It is reported that the University of York and Newcastle University are both public research universities in the United Kingdom, important academic members of the Russell Group, the N8 Research Partnership, and the European University Association. In addition, the University of York is also a member of the Jiangsu-UK High-Level University Alliance. In the world university rankings, both universities were ranked within the global top 200 in the 2025 THE World University Rankings and the 2026 QS World University Rankings.
