On the afternoon of September 3, the School of Economics and Management held a general faculty and staff meeting in Room B108. Secretary of the Party Committee Li Xinchun, Dean Ding Zhihua, Vice Deans Jiang Hongyan and Ran Hongtao, as well as all faculty and staff attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Secretary Li Xinchun.
At the beginning of the meeting, Secretary Li extended a warm welcome on behalf of the school to the new faculty members. Seventeen new teachers introduced themselves, expressing their joy at joining the school family and their expectations for future work.
During the meeting, Secretary Li, in line with the university’s overall arrangements and focusing on the school’s central tasks, emphasized four key areas of the school’s work:
1. Focus on improving the quality of talent cultivation and pursuing distinctive development, with close attention to the sixth round of discipline evaluation and the application for doctoral programs.
2. Strengthen the coordination of innovative resources and the organization of strengths to advance organized scientific research.
3. Address the growth needs of teachers, build a career development ladder for them, and promote the trilogy of “recruiting, cultivating, and retaining talents.”
4. Comprehensively strengthen the construction of faculty ethics and conduct, promote the spirit of educators, and strive to become “four haves” good teachers.
Dean Ding Zhihua first briefly summarized the work of the past semester, focusing on a multi-dimensional analysis of the results of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He then made comprehensive arrangements for the key tasks of the upcoming semester:
1. Organize applications for national-level projects for 2026.
2. Continue promoting talent introduction and cultivation to support the growth of young teachers.
3. Draft the 15th Five-Year Development Plan of the School, with clear objectives and detailed tasks, highlighting key initiatives such as the construction of liberal arts laboratories and the compilation of the “Blue Book on China’s Energy Transition.”
4. Strengthen the organization and application for provincial-level undergraduate and postgraduate teaching achievement awards.
5. Coordinate efforts to promote the sixth round of discipline evaluation.
6. Further optimize and revise the school’s performance management system.
7. Organize and prepare for the 9th International Conference on Energy Resources Systems Engineering.
8. Continue advancing international cooperation and exchange, with particular focus on the qualification assessment and enrollment expansion application of the Sino-Canadian MBA program, as well as the school’s international accreditation work.
During the meeting, Vice Dean Jiang Hongyan and Vice Dean Ran Hongtao each summarized the main work of the past semester and outlined plans and arrangements for the new semester in their respective areas of responsibility.
