    Vice President Bian Zhengfu Leads CUMT Delegation to Yancheng for Undergraduate Admissions Promotion

    On June 25, Vice President Prof. Bian Zhengfu led a delegation to Yancheng City to carry out undergraduate admissions promotion activities. The event was attended by Zheng Rongwen, Director of Yancheng Municipal Education Bureau, principals of key local high schools, Dean Prof. Ding Zhihua and Vice Dean Prof. Ran Hongtao of the School of Economics and Management, among others. CUMT also invited several prominent Yancheng-born alumni, including Prof. Zhang Haijun, Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering, Prof. Pu Hai, Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Deep Geomechanics and Underground Engineering, and Zhao Chao, Deputy Director of the University Library with past administrative experience in Yancheng, to join the visit.

    Undergraduate Admissions Exchange Meeting

    In the morning, the CUMT–Yancheng Municipal Education Bureau Undergraduate Admissions Exchange Meeting was held in Room 418 of the Education Bureau. Vice President Prof. Bian Zhengfu provided a comprehensive overview of CUMT, including its history, talent cultivation, faculty resources, disciplinary development, and admissions policies. He noted that Yancheng is a key student source city for CUMT and has consistently contributed outstanding students to the university. He expressed hopes that the visit would deepen school-local cooperation, enhance services for local students in filling out university applications, and attract more talented students to apply to CUMT.

    Director Zheng Rongwen warmly welcomed the CUMT delegation and acknowledged the university's leading role in talent development and scientific innovation, noting its contributions to both national progress and societal development. He emphasized that this event marked a valuable opportunity for further collaboration and hoped it would serve as a bridge for long-term communication, encouraging more students from Yancheng to pursue higher education at CUMT and achieve personal and academic growth.

    The two sides also discussed admissions promotion strategies, student career planning support, and other practical topics during the meeting.

    Campus Promotion at Yancheng High School

    Later in the day, Vice President Bian Zhengfu and the delegation visited the Yancheng High School admissions consultation event, where he provided on-site guidance and engaged directly with prospective students and parents. He patiently addressed students' questions regarding major selection, career prospects, and offered tailored application advice based on CUMT’s disciplinary strengths and unique program features.

    Parents also raised questions about campus life, tuition policies, and other concerns, which Prof. Bian answered in detail. One parent remarked, “After talking face-to-face with the university leadership, we feel much more confident about encouraging our child to apply to CUMT.”
