    Delegation from SEM Visits Jilin University for Exchange and Study

    On June 19, a delegation from the School of Economics and Management, China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT), led by Dean Prof. Ding Zhihua, visited Jilin University for a research and exchange visit. The delegation included Vice Dean Prof. Jiang Hongyan, Prof. Xu Shichun, Head of the Applied Economics discipline, Prof. Zhang Ming, Director of the Doctoral Program in Management Science and Engineering, Prof. Li Kaifeng, Head of the Finance Department, Prof. Liu Jianyong, Head of the Accounting Department, Prof. Mou Yupeng, Head of the Business Administration Department, Prof. Tian Zhangpeng, Head of the E-commerce Department, and Ms. Liu Ran, Director of the Teaching Affairs Office.

     

     

    The first stop of the visit was the School of Business and Management at Jilin University, where the CUMT delegation was warmly received by Party Secretary Zhao Jun, Vice Deans Prof. Wang Jinming and Prof. Zhang Xiaoyu, as well as several department heads and discipline leaders.

    Secretary Zhao Jun extended a sincere welcome to the delegation and provided a detailed overview of the school’s academic programs, talent development system, new program development, and discipline construction progress. In response, Dean Ding Zhihua expressed his gratitude for the thoughtful arrangements and introduced the School of Economics and Management at CUMT, highlighting its professional development, disciplinary achievements, and lab construction.

    During the subsequent discussion session, both sides conducted in-depth exchanges on topics including internationalization strategies, dual-degree program development, new program design and implementation, and future trends in discipline development. Both parties agreed that deeper cooperation and frequent academic exchanges should be fostered to jointly improve the quality of education and the development level of business and management programs under the new circumstances.

    The delegation also visited the Bioarchaeology Laboratory of Jilin University. There, they were welcomed by Secretary Wang Wei of the School of Archaeology and Prof. Zhang Quanchao, Director of the Laboratory Center. The hosts introduced the operation model, talent cultivation system, public service mechanisms, and interdisciplinary research outcomes of the laboratory.

    The CUMT delegation highly praised the innovative practices of the Bioarchaeology Laboratory in liberal arts laboratory development, particularly its breakthrough research in interdisciplinary integration. These insights will serve as valuable references for the future construction of new liberal arts laboratories within the School of Economics and Management.

    This visit not only strengthened ties between the two institutions but also provided meaningful inspiration for improving discipline development, curriculum structure, and talent training quality at the School of Economics and Management, CUMT.
