On May 15, a delegation from the School of Business Administration at Henan Polytechnic University, led by Vice Dean Fan Zhiqiang, visited the School of Economics and Management at China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) for a collaborative exchange. The delegation included Gong Guan, Director of the Department of Big Data Management and Application; Zhang Xishuan, Party Branch Secretary; Xue Jinli, Party Branch Secretary of the Human Resource Management Department; and Liu Haijun, a key faculty member.
CUMT’s Vice Dean Jiang Hongyan warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced the School’s academic programs, discipline development, and progress in internationalization. She emphasized that the School is committed to cultivating talents with global vision and innovative capabilities, continuously exploring new approaches to disciplinary and program development. Vice Dean Jiang highlighted the significance of this exchange as a valuable opportunity for mutual learning and future collaboration, especially in the area of education and teaching.
Professor Wang Huaqing provided an in-depth overview of the Big Data Management and Application program, covering its founding background, development trajectory, and curriculum design. He noted that the program focuses on training high-level professionals proficient in big data analysis and management, with a curriculum integrating both theory and practice, including courses such as big data technology, data analysis, and data mining.
Professor Tong Peng shared insights on student employment, internship programs, and practical education in the big data program. He introduced the School’s experiences in building internship bases and launching university-industry cooperation projects, while also addressing current challenges and areas for improvement. Both sides had in-depth discussions on faculty development, talent training models, and integration of practical teaching resources.
Professor Yue Ting gave a presentation on the Human Resource Management program, highlighting its development path and current status. She focused on the program’s innovations and outcomes in practical education and student innovation training. The program encourages students to participate in research projects and academic competitions, fostering their creative thinking and teamwork skills.
During the exchange with HR faculty from Henan Polytechnic University, both parties engaged in a lively discussion on the development prospects and challenges of human resource management education in the context of artificial intelligence. They agreed that the advancement of AI presents both new opportunities and challenges for the field, requiring continuous updates to teaching content and methods to cultivate new talent suited to future demands.
In his concluding remarks, Vice Dean Fan Zhiqiang expressed appreciation for the warm reception and insightful discussions. He noted that this visit provided valuable insights into CUMT’s achievements in discipline development and talent cultivation. The primary aim of the visit was to learn from CUMT’s best practices to support the growth of Henan Polytechnic University’s School of Business Administration. He expressed hope that this exchange would serve as a starting point for deeper communication and cooperation between the two institutions, establishing a long-term partnership in teaching, faculty development, and beyond, jointly promoting the progress of economic and management disciplines at both universities.
