

Opening Remarks by Dean Ding Zhihua
On the afternoon of May 15, the School of Economics and Management of China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) successfully held the Sub-Forum of the 6th Postdoctoral Innovation Forum and the 40th Anniversary of the Establishment of China’s Postdoctoral System in Room B117. The forum brought together 18 outstanding young scholars from renowned universities including Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, University of Science and Technology of China, Wuhan University, Tongji University, Jilin University, Chongqing University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Northeastern University, Huazhong Agricultural University, China University of Petroleum (East China), Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, among others.
The event was attended by Party Secretary Li Xinchun, Dean Ding Zhihua, Deputy Party Secretary Liu Ning, Vice Deans Jiang Hongyan and Ran Hongtao, as well as heads of departments, academic chairs, and party branch secretaries. The forum was chaired by Vice Dean Ran Hongtao.
Dean Ding Zhihua extended a warm welcome and heartfelt greetings to the young scholars. He provided a comprehensive overview of the School, highlighting its historical development, academic programs, and faculty team. Dean Ding emphasized that the School has always adhered to a “talent-driven development” strategy, making talent recruitment and cultivation a top priority. He sincerely invited young scholars committed to academic research and education to join the School and build a bright future together.
Following this, Vice Dean Ran Hongtao gave a detailed presentation on the School's talent recruitment policies. Focusing on the support mechanisms for high-level research achievements, he elaborated on various recruitment tracks including Xingjian Postdoctoral Program, Faculty Postdoctoral Program, and tenure-track positions for Assistant Professors and Lecturers. Vice Dean Ran stressed the School’s commitment to providing competitive packages and comprehensive support to help young scholars advance in their academic careers.
During the academic presentation and exchange session, the young scholars took the stage one after another to deliver engaging reports on their academic backgrounds, research areas, key achievements, and future plans. They shared valuable experiences from their research journeys, showcased their latest findings, and explored the prospects of academic development, fully demonstrating the spirit and excellence of a new generation of researchers. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on research planning, recruitment policies, faculty development, and support mechanisms, in a lively and constructive atmosphere.
The forum yielded fruitful outcomes. After in-depth communication, the School reached preliminary recruitment intentions with more than ten young scholars. The successful organization of the forum highlights the School’s strong emphasis on talent recruitment and its unwavering dedication to academic excellence. With the continued arrival of outstanding young scholars, the School will be further energized in disciplinary development and academic advancement, paving the way for a new chapter of success.
