To promote integration between industry and education as well as deeper university-enterprise cooperation, the School of Economics and Management at China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) organized a field visit on April 30 to enterprises including Jiangsu Ningxin Auto Parts Co., Ltd. and the Suining Branch of China Post. The initiative aimed to explore broader employment opportunities for graduates and advance talent cultivation in collaboration with industry partners.

The delegation was led by Dean Professor Ding Zhihua, accompanied by Vice Dean Professor Ran Hongtao, Director of the Alumni Affairs Office Wang Lianghong, Discipline Lead for Business Administration Professor Sun Ziyuan, Secretary of the Accounting Department Party Branch Guo Zhenyu, and Director of the Administrative Office Xiao Guojian.

The delegation received a warm welcome from local government officials and company representatives. During the visit, the team toured production workshops, R&D centers, and office spaces, gaining a comprehensive understanding of each enterprise’s development history, core businesses, corporate culture, and talent needs.

At the subsequent symposiums, both sides held in-depth discussions on topics such as talent cultivation, curriculum development, internships and employment, and university-industry-research collaboration.

Dean Ding Zhihua introduced the School’s disciplinary strengths, academic programs, talent development model, and graduate profiles. He emphasized the importance of aligning academic training with industry demands and expressed hope to strengthen communication with enterprises. He also called for closer cooperation in internship programs and job placements, aiming to cultivate more high-quality, application-oriented talents who meet the needs of both the job market and society.

Leaders including Yang Yuanchao, Deputy Party Secretary and County Mayor of Suining County, Hao Wei, Head of the Publicity Department, Yan Cunlu, Chairman of Ningxin, Chu Zhenrui, General Manager of Suining Branch of China Post, Shang Rui, Deputy Director of Suining Postal Savings Bank, and Tian Zhenyu, Deputy Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. They praised the comprehensive competence and professional abilities of CUMT graduates and shared insights into local economic development and the evolving needs for talent in various industries. They also expressed strong interest in establishing long-term cooperation with the university.

During the discussions, consensus was reached on building internship and training bases, co-hosting recruitment events, and other practical cooperation efforts. Both parties agreed that enhanced university-enterprise collaboration would allow for resource sharing and complementarity, ultimately improving talent development and enterprise competitiveness. Such partnerships would also open up broader career development paths for graduates and support higher-quality employment outcomes.

This visit exemplifies the School’s proactive approach to current employment challenges and its commitment to serving enterprise development through deeper university-enterprise cooperation. It reinforced ties with local businesses and expanded career opportunities for students, laying a solid foundation for graduate employment.

Looking ahead, the School of Economics and Management will continue to deepen collaboration with industry partners, broaden the scope of cooperation, and work to create more employment channels for graduates while delivering greater talent support for regional economic and social development.
