Associate Dean Ran Hongtao Delivers Keynote Speech

On the morning of April 13, the Fourth Council’s Fourth Meeting of the China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) Alumni Association was held in Hefei. President Zhao Hongwei, also President of the Alumni Association, Vice President Li Qiang (Executive Vice President of the Association), and Vice President Wang Zhongbin attended the meeting. Over 300 attendees, including council members, 2024 Outstanding Alumni Work award recipients, honorary alumni representatives, emerging alumni organization leaders, Hefei alumni, and passionate alumni from across the country participated in the event.
From the School of Economics and Management, Associate Dean Ran Hongtao, Director of the Alumni Office Wang Lianghong, President of the MBA Alumni Association Nie Rui, Secretary-General Chen Yong, staff member Qiao Yidan, and several MBA alumni representatives were present. The meeting was chaired by Zhong Xiaodong, Director of the Office of External Cooperation and Development and Secretary-General of the Alumni Association.
At the meeting, President Zhao Hongwei was elected as the new president of the 4th Council of the Alumni Association and delivered a keynote speech. He spoke highly of the CUMT spirit and achievements and proposed to promote alumni work through enhanced top-level planning, cultural inheritance, clarified work philosophy, and improved service quality, aiming to foster mutual growth between the university and its alumni.
Vice President Li Qiang, on behalf of the 4th Council, presented a report on the association's recent progress and shared insights on future initiatives. He emphasized that the alumni association will continue to align with the university's strategic development goals and strive to realize the “Four Full Efforts” to support alumni development and institutional advancement.
During the conference, Qiao Yidan, staff member of the School’s Alumni Office, and Yang Xiaona, Vice President of the MBA Alumni Association, received the “2024 Outstanding Individual in Alumni Work” award. Vice President Wang Zhongbin presented the certificates and medals to the recipients.
In the afternoon, the 2025 Annual Alumni Work Seminar was successfully held. The discussions centered on the preparation of a CUMT Alumni Entrepreneurs Union. Alumni from various industries and regions shared practical experiences and innovative ideas, offering valuable insights for the continued improvement of alumni work.
Associate Dean Ran Hongtao delivered a thematic presentation on “Thoughts and Exploration on the Entity Operation of Alumni Economy”, representing the School of Economics and Management.
