On the afternoon of April 2, Du Huibin, Director of the College of Management and Economics at Tianjin University, and Professor Wang Huimin visited the School of Economics and Management at China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) for a productive and in-depth academic exchange. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen academic interaction between the two institutions, share teaching experiences, and explore potential future collaborations.
The meeting was chaired by Party Secretary Li Xinchun and attended by Dean Ding Zhihua, Vice Deans Jiang Hongyan and Wang Delu, Head of the Business Administration discipline Sun Ziyuan, and young faculty members Wang Xu and Guo Shu, who are alumni of Tianjin University.
Dean Ding Zhihua extended a warm welcome to the guests and gave a comprehensive introduction to the school’s development history, faculty and student structure, discipline and program development, research achievements, and international exchanges. He particularly emphasized the school’s unique educational characteristics, innovations in management, and specific measures in talent cultivation and recruitment.
Director Du Huibin and Professor Wang Huimin engaged in in-depth discussions on several key topics, including discipline development, talent training, and scientific research. They shared valuable insights into Tianjin University's approaches to developing academic disciplines, innovative models for cultivating high-level talent, and strategies to enhance research competitiveness. Notably, their practical experience in promoting interdisciplinary research to drive the growth of management and economics disciplines provided meaningful references for CUMT’s own development.
This exchange introduced new perspectives and ideas for the school’s future growth and further strengthened the collaboration between the two universities in the field of economics and management. Looking ahead, both parties hope to deepen cooperation across more areas and jointly promote the advancement of management disciplines.
