In response to the national rural revitalization strategy and to deeply integrate classroom learning with real-world experience, on March 22, 2025, Jiang Hongyan, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management at China University of Mining and Technology, along with more than ten faculty and Party members from the Department of Business Administration and over 100 undergraduate students from the Class of 2023, traveled to Yangtun Town, Pei County, to carry out a themed Party Day activity titled "Party Building Unites Strength, Youth Empowerment Promotes Revitalization – Integrated Faculty-Student Practice Tour", experiencing firsthand how Party building empowers township industry and innovation drives local development.

At 8:30 a.m., the group arrived in Yangtun Town and began a full and meaningful day of fieldwork. The first stop was Jiangsu Smart New Material Technology Co., Ltd., a global leader in the research and development, process engineering, and market share of nickel-titanium alloy wire products. The company’s cutting-edge technology and outstanding achievements left a strong impression on the students and faculty.
Next, they visited Xuzhou Huasheng Textile Co., Ltd., where they toured its automated production workshops. There, they witnessed the remarkable results of the traditional industry’s transformation and upgrading. Faculty members used their professional knowledge to analyze the deeper causes and societal expectations behind industrial upgrades, seamlessly linking classroom concepts with practical application.

The group then visited the Konghuantun Village History Museum, where historic photographs and relics vividly illustrated the village’s journey from poverty to prosperity and from underdevelopment to cultural advancement. The visit left a deep emotional impact on the students and faculty, who were moved by the enduring spirit of hard work shown by earlier generations.

At the Yangtun Town Cultural and Sports Center, the group held a discussion with local officials and residents. Town representatives gave a detailed briefing on the local economic and social development, the outcomes of rural revitalization efforts, and current challenges. Students and faculty actively contributed ideas on topics such as rural industry development, talent recruitment strategies, and cultural development, generating a lively and productive exchange.

The final visit was to the China Coal Photovoltaic New Energy Base, where staff introduced the principles, advantages, and vast potential of solar energy. Through this field visit and in-depth discussion, the group gained a clearer understanding of the development of the renewable energy sector and its significance in achieving China's “dual carbon” goals. The experience also reinforced their commitment to contributing to green development.

This Party Day activity, guided by Party-building principles, tightly integrated rural revitalization with practical student engagement. During the visits to various enterprises and industrial bases, faculty Party members encouraged students to explore how Party-building can unite strength and help new technologies and industries take root in rural areas.

Looking forward, the School of Economics and Management at China University of Mining and Technology will continue to enhance Party-building leadership, deepen social practice for students and faculty through diverse activities, and expand the university-enterprise cooperation platform. By empowering education with Party-building, the School aims to cultivate a new generation of management talent suited to the digital economy era and to contribute wisdom and strength to the implementation of rural revitalization strategies.
