    On December 21, the Jiangsu Province Deans' Forum of Schools of Economics and Management was held at CUMT. The event, initiated by CUMT SEM, brought together representatives from over 20 schools of economics and management across the province. The forum centered on the theme “New Era · New Management: Co-Creating a Path for the Excellence of Schools of Economics and Management,” focusing on innovative governance models, disciplinary development directions, professional development strategies, and talent cultivation measures.

    President Zhao Hongwei delivered the opening speech, extending congratulations on the successful convening of the forum and warmly welcoming the participating leaders and experts. He introduced the university’s history and its achievements, emphasizing its unique strengths in fields such as energy and resource management, industrial safety management, green consumption and sustainable development, carbon market management, environmental accounting, and financial risk management. President Zhao expressed hope that the forum would serve as a platform to discuss strategies for integrating education, science, and talent development. He stressed the importance of improving the quality of talent cultivation in economics and management, enhancing scientific and technological innovation, and increasing social service capabilities to contribute to China’s modernization and regional economic development.

    Zhao Shuming, Senior Professor at Nanjing University, also delivered remarks during the opening ceremony. He highlighted the vital role of schools of economics and management in cultivating future business and social leaders, noting their significant responsibility in driving economic and social progress. Professor Zhao commended the forum for bringing together schools across Jiangsu Province to discuss innovative development models for economics and management education in the new era.

    • Wang Quansheng, Dean of the School of Management, Nanjing University: Challenges Facing Nanjing University's MBA Training Model

    • Huang Weidong, Dean of the School of Management, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications: Digitalization and Professional Reform

    • Cao Jie, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Nanjing Tech University: Challenges and Reflections for Economics and Management Disciplines in the AI Era

    • Ding Zhihua, Dean of SEM,  CUMT: Industry-Focused Digitalization Talent Cultivation Models and Practices at Specialized Universities

    Zhou Dequn concluded the forum with a closing summary.

    Throughout the forum, deans and experts engaged in in-depth discussions, sharing governance experiences and exploring strategies for the excellence of schools of economics and management. The event fostered stronger connections between CUMT and other schools of economics and management within and beyond the province. It also provided valuable insights for advancing CUMT’s disciplinary and professional development, refining talent cultivation models, and enhancing the university’s overall influence.
