    SEM Holds Second Round Progress Meeting for "Management + Engineering" Dual Degree Program

    On the afternoon of November 11, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Information Control and Engineering, and the Academic Affairs Office held a progress meeting for the "Management + Engineering" dual degree program in Room B503 of the School of Economics and Management. The meeting was attended by Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, Shi Liwei, Director of the Teaching Research Center, Jiang Juan, Vice Dean of the School of Information Control and Engineering, Liu Hai, Associate Chair of the Department of Artificial Intelligence, Pan Jie, Deputy Secretary of the School of Economics and Management, Sun Yunxiao, Vice Dean Jiang Hongyan, Director of the Department of Business Management, Mou Yupeng, Head of the Marketing Program, Liu Manzhi, Head of the Human Resources Management Program, Yue Ting, and Teaching Secretary Liu Ran.




    Deputy Secretary Sun Yunxiao chaired the meeting and first expressed sincere gratitude to Deputy Director Shi Liwei and Vice Dean Liu Hai for their strong support. He emphasized that, as the school's first pilot dual degree program, this initiative is of great significance in exploring the cultivation model of interdisciplinary talents in the context of digital intelligence. He expressed the hope that both disciplines would work together to promote the deep development of the project. Director Mou Yupeng then provided a detailed introduction to the background of the "Management + Engineering" dual degree program, including preliminary research on the implementation of similar programs at other universities, the current progress, and the training model.


     

    Deputy Director Shi Liwei highly praised the dual degree pilot project between the two schools, noting that this program can train talents that meet social needs and is an effective approach to cultivating interdisciplinary talents. He emphasized that the key to success lies in truly integrating the two disciplines to create complementary advantages. Shi also provided specific guidance and requirements on the basic conditions for dual degree applications, key timelines, and training programs.


    Vice Dean Liu Hai expressed strong agreement with the trend and direction of interdisciplinary talent cultivation in the digital intelligence era. He looked forward to seeing multidimensional cooperation between the two schools in talent cultivation, education, and scientific research. Liu also provided guidance on the integration of courses, student selection, and admission and graduation requirements.


    Finally, Vice Dean Jiang Hongyan summarized the meeting. She again thanked the Academic Affairs Office and the School of Information Control and Engineering for their attention and support for the dual degree program and emphasized that this project, as a pilot for the digital intelligence reform in economics and management disciplines, is crucial for cultivating innovative, interdisciplinary talents. Jiang also expressed the hope that the two disciplines would continue to leverage their professional strengths, enhance cooperation and communication, and jointly push the dual degree program toward significant achievements.
