From July 1 to 3, the finals of the 26th Teaching Competition at China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) were held at the Boxue Lecture Hall. After intense competition in the group finals and the special award competition, faculty members from the School of Economics and Management (SEMS) achieved outstanding results. Wang Hui won the Special Award, Liu Bei won the First Prize, and Chen Shaojun, Liu Quanlong, Wang Xiaolei, and Wang Yawi won the Second Prize. SEMS also received the Excellent Organization Award.

The School of Economics and Management has always attached great importance to undergraduate teaching. It views teaching competitions as an effective means to encourage and motivate frontline teachers to continuously improve the quality of teaching. The school adheres to the principle of "learning by doing," encouraging and supporting faculty participation in various teaching competitions. These competitions play a leading role in improving the quality of the teaching staff, encouraging young teachers to update their educational philosophies, deepen their understanding of course content, and master modern teaching methods. Every year, the school actively organizes teachers to participate in university-level teaching competitions. For both course and teaching innovation tracks, each department recommends outstanding teachers to participate in the faculty-level selection. The school invites experienced experts and university-level supervisors to serve as judges for the final competition. Teachers receive systematic guidance in three areas: instructional design, classroom teaching, and teaching reflection, with one-on-one coaching on key preparation points and presentation techniques.

In recent years, the faculty has actively engaged in classroom teaching reforms and innovations, significantly improving teaching skills and levels. As a result, SEMS has achieved excellent results in various teaching competitions.

The School of Economics and Management will continue to uphold the core value of "moral education" and focus on improving undergraduate teaching quality and enhancing faculty teaching capabilities. By leveraging teaching competitions as a tool, the school aims to create a positive atmosphere, inspire a passion for teaching, promote the growth and development of young faculty, and further advance and improve the school's undergraduate education and teaching reform.
