On the afternoon of June 20, the School of Economics and Management invited two undergraduate teaching experts, Professor Wen Xiaohui and Professor Zheng Aihua, to hold a guidance lecture on undergraduate teaching standards in Room B503. The event was hosted by Vice Dean Jiang Hongyan.
In response to common issues and needs encountered by young faculty members in undergraduate teaching, Professor Zheng Aihua first provided a detailed explanation of the standardized processes and key considerations in course assessments and teaching documentation. Using practical examples, she thoroughly discussed the grading requirements for exam-based and assessment-based courses, while also emphasizing the importance of teaching summaries and the correct method of writing them.
Professor Wen Xiaohui then delivered a lecture on the standardization of graduation theses (designs). She discussed common issues encountered by thesis advisors, reviewers, and teaching assistants in the processes of issuing thesis tasks and writing review reports, offering appropriate example cases. Lastly, Professor Wen provided insights from the perspective of a teaching supervisor, stressing the importance for young faculty members to be mindful of issues such as teacher ethics, classroom conduct, exam invigilation, and communication with students during the undergraduate teaching process. The goal was to help young faculty members firmly establish themselves in the classroom and become responsible, dedicated, and effective teachers.
