    Alex Wilson, Director of the School of Management at Queen’s University Belfast, Visits SEM for Collaborative Exchange

    On the afternoon of May 14, Alex Wilson, Director of the International Cooperation Office at Queen’s University Belfast School of Management, along with Wendy McKnight and Catherine Li, visited the School of Economics and Management to discuss collaboration in joint academic programs. Attendees included Dean Ding Zhihua, Party Committee Deputy Secretary Sun Yunxiao, Vice Dean Jiang Hongyan, Wang Huaqing, Head of the Department of Big Data Management and Application, and Li Kaifeng, Head of the Department of Finance, among other faculty members.

     



    At the meeting, Dean Ding Zhihua warmly welcomed the representatives from Queen’s University Belfast and provided an overview of the school’s programs and departments. Vice Dean Jiang Hongyan elaborated on potential collaborations in academic research, faculty exchange, and summer programs. The discussion also touched on arrangements for undergraduate summer internships.


    The exchange enabled both parties to gain a deeper understanding of each other’s educational models. Both sides agreed to enhance the promotion of collaborative initiatives to ensure their successful implementation. This collaboration is expected to lay a solid foundation for advancing the internationalization of the school’s undergraduate education.

     



    Following the meeting, Catherine Li and Alex Wilson delivered a presentation to students about the “3+1” program and conducted a Q&A session. The presentation provided a comprehensive overview of Belfast, the university's location, academic rankings, campus environment, student support, teaching facilities, admission requirements, application procedures, tuition fees, scholarships, and summer programs.


    During the Q&A session, the presenters addressed students’ concerns in detail. Many students expressed that they found the session highly informative and helpful. The event offered tailored insights into the program's stages, addressing students’ questions and providing valuable guidance for those interested in participating.


     

     



    Queen’s University Belfast (QUB), founded in 1845 by Queen Victoria, is the ninth-oldest university in the UK.     This visit marks another step in fostering collaboration between Queen’s University Belfast and the School of Economics and Management. Moving forward, the school will continue to maintain exchanges and provide students with diverse learning opportunities, empowering them to grow into globally competent professionals.
