On April 10, 2024, the Department of Business Administration under the School of Economics and Management convened an orientation meeting for the 2023 cohort in Room B108 of the School's building. The meeting, part of the department's teaching plan, was hosted by the department chair, Associate Professor Mu Yupeng. Attendees included Dean Ding Zhihua, Party Branch Secretary and Associate Chair Yue Ting, Associate Chair Liu Manzhi, Deputy Party Secretary Wang Hui, and faculty members Xu Honghua, Mi Lingyun, Inayat Khan, Yu Haimao, Jiang Luyuan, Xu Mengmeng, and Jiang Xin.
The orientation began promptly at 7:00 PM with Associate Professor Mu outlining the meeting's purpose and significance. He formally introduced the faculty members in attendance.
Professional Development Insights
Professor Mu presented an analysis of the trends in professional development and talent cultivation approaches in domestic and international institutions. He highlighted the department's faculty strength, teaching achievements, and the differentiated development paths for the 2023 cohort, emphasizing key themes: Digital Intelligence + Integration and Synergy + Specialization. The department now integrates resources from two nationally recognized first-class majors, aiming to pioneer a new interdisciplinary training model.
Dean’s Address
Dean Ding Zhihua delivered a speech reflecting on the motivations and expectations behind the department's pilot reforms. He encouraged the department to seize the opportunities offered by the university's new "integration and synergy" strategy and the emphasis on cultivating talent in the digital intelligence era

Two upperclassmen—Yuan Feiling (Class of 2022) and Gong Yixuan (Class of 2020)—shared their experiences. Drawing from their journeys in academics, extracurricular activities, research competitions, and personal growth, they provided valuable advice and practical strategies to help the 2023 cohort navigate their university life effectively.
Future Plans and Faculty Expectations
Following the student presentations, Associate Professor Mu introduced upcoming departmental initiatives, including the CIS (Corporate Identity System) design, professional internships, and modular training programs aimed at fostering students’ progression from cognition to recognition and ultimately identification with their field.
The faculty members concluded the meeting by addressing the incoming students, setting clear expectations, and extending their hopes and best wishes. They encouraged the 2023 cohort to embrace new opportunities and strive for excellence on this fresh academic journey.
