    SEM Successfully Hosts “3+1 Sino-British Joint Undergraduate and Master’s Program” Information Session

            March 10, 2024 – In the vibrant season of spring, the School of Economics and Management held an information session on the “3+1 Sino-British Joint Undergraduate and Master’s Program.” The event aimed to provide students with more opportunities for international education, broaden their academic horizons, and expand their career prospects. The session was hosted by Sun Yunxiao, Deputy Party Secretary of the School, and attended by Vice Dean Jiang Hongyan and faculty members from the student affairs office.

    In her opening speech, Vice Dean Jiang highlighted the importance of international education and praised the joint program. She explained that the “3+1” program allows students to complete three years of study in China before continuing their education for one year at an overseas partner institution. Upon completing the program, students can obtain both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree within four years. This program offers students a comprehensive and globalized educational experience, exposing them to different educational systems, diverse cultures, and cross-cultural communication skills. Additionally, the international curriculum and teaching methodologies help enhance students’ professional skills and innovative capabilities. Jiang emphasized that this program is a crucial step in the School’s internationalization strategy and serves as a platform for students to achieve their aspirations.

    Following the opening remarks, Ms. Zhang Yifan provided a detailed introduction to the program, including information on the partner institution, cooperation model, curriculum structure, degree conferral process, and the significance of studying abroad. She emphasized that the program offers a valuable opportunity for students to complete three years of domestic study and one year at a foreign institution, enabling them to acquire comprehensive knowledge and invaluable international experience in a globalized context.

    The session was lively and engaging, with students and parents showing great enthusiasm for the program. Deputy Secretary Sun addressed their questions patiently, fostering a positive and interactive atmosphere. Many students expressed that the program offered them new ideas and options for their future plans.

    Aligned with the University’s “14th Five-Year Plan,” the School of Economics and Management actively collaborates with leading international business schools. Beyond this program, the School promotes faculty exchange, research cooperation, and student mobility. It strives to develop diverse, high-quality Sino-foreign joint education models that span master’s and doctoral levels, in addition to the Sino-Canadian International MBA program. By introducing and integrating quality educational resources from partner institutions, the School not only enhances the University’s academic development but also supports and leads key regional industries.
