On March 2, 2026, Jiang Hongyan, Associate Dean of SEM, and Zhang Yifan, Director of the International MBA Program, held a working meeting with Shen Dai, President of Brest Business School, and Cao Yinan, Board Member of the China-France Alliance for Higher and Vocational Education and Chair of the China-France Education Exchange Committee. The meeting focused on promoting cooperation between SEM and the Institut Supérieur de Développement Social et Économique de Lyon to jointly develop a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program.
Located in Lyon, France, the Institut Supérieur de Développement Social et Économique de Lyon is regarded as a representative institution within the French elite education system and is well known for its research and education in social development, economics, and management. The proposed collaboration aims to combine the strengths of CUMT in engineering management and energy economics with the partner institution’s expertise in social and economic development studies, with the goal of establishing an internationally oriented DBA program.
During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on key aspects of the project, including curriculum design, program operation, and admission arrangements. President Shen Dai noted that both the China-France Education Exchange Committee and the alliance would actively support the advancement of the program.
Associate Dean Jiang Hongyan emphasized that cooperation with the Institut Supérieur de Développement Social et Économique de Lyon is an important step in SEM’s internationalization strategy. She noted that the collaboration will help enhance the School’s international influence in advanced management education and contribute to building a comprehensive international cooperation framework covering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs.
The two sides also discussed matters related to a framework agreement for cooperation, and follow-up work will be carried out in due course.
