Ahead of the 2026 winter break, SEM carried out a comprehensive safety inspection to ensure the safety of faculty members, students, and campus facilities during the holiday period.
Led by members of the SEM leadership team, a joint inspection group composed of representatives from executive office, laboratory center, and other administrative units conducted a thorough review of potential safety risks. The inspection covered key areas across the School, including departmental offices, faculty studios, graduate student workspaces, and the experimental center, with the aim of identifying and addressing possible safety hazards.
During the inspection, the team emphasized the importance of strengthening safety responsibility at all levels and urged departments to remain vigilant against complacency. Faculty and staff were encouraged to maintain a strong sense of responsibility and ensure that safety management measures remain effective throughout the winter break.
Li Xinchun, Party Secretary of SEM, stressed that safety is a fundamental pillar of the School’s high-quality development. He noted that although campus activity tends to decrease during the winter break, safety management should remain a top priority. Li called on all departments to strictly implement duty and on-call systems during the holiday period, improve emergency response mechanisms, and ensure that communication channels remain smooth and responsive.
He also highlighted the importance of continuing safety education for faculty and students, particularly in areas such as fire prevention, theft prevention, telecommunications fraud awareness, and traffic safety, in order to enhance the community’s overall safety awareness and preparedness.
This pre-holiday safety inspection not only helped identify and eliminate potential safety hazards, but also reinforced a strong sense of safety responsibility across the School, laying a solid foundation for a safe and harmonious campus environment during the winter break.
