The event was chaired by Deputy Party Secretary and Deputy Director of the CNG, Liu Ning, and featured a keynote presentation by Mr. Wang Lianghong, Director of the SEM Alumni and External Affairs Office. During the symposium, Mr. Wang delivered a thematic presentation titled "Exploring the Construction of a Comprehensive Student Development System." His presentation showcased the School's efforts in establishing a holistic education system to enhance students' all-around development.
Discussing activity design and implementation strategies, Mr. Wang emphasized the importance of cultivating students' ideological and political awareness, cultural literacy, innovation capacity, and physical and mental well-being through diversified activities. He elaborated on how events are categorized, scheduled, and supported with safeguards. According to Mr. Wang, a clear understanding of the role of student affairs is key to the success of such initiatives. He stressed the need for alignment with national education policies and discipline-specific development trends, advocating for the promotion of the “4C Spirit” — Confidence, Competition, Cooperation, and Creation — to empower students in their academic and personal growth.
In his concluding remarks, Deputy Secretary Liu Ning noted that Mr. Wang, a seasoned expert with years of experience in student affairs, has laid a solid foundation for the development of a high-quality student support system at the School. Looking ahead, the School will continue to deepen reforms in student affairs, inherit and carry forward the fine traditions of past practitioners, and promote students’ well-rounded development to cultivate more outstanding talents.
