On the afternoon of December 13, the School of Economics and Management held a "Young Faculty Development Forum" in Room B503. The forum featured two guest speakers, Wang Hui and Li Mingchen, who delivered lectures on the topics of "Looking Outward, Reflecting Inward, and Moving Forward: Insights from Teaching" and "ChatGPT—Applications in Research," respectively. Vice Dean Jiang Hongyan and Discipline and Talent Office Director Chen Feiyu hosted the event.
First, Wang Hui shared her extensive teaching experience and insights, discussing classroom instruction, curriculum reform applications, course development, and teaching competitions. She emphasized the importance of maintaining a broad perspective as a young faculty member—“looking outward” to stay attuned to trends at the forefront of education, “reflecting inward” to enhance teaching methods and effectiveness, and “moving forward” by committing to personal growth and lifelong learning. She encouraged colleagues to maintain enthusiasm and passion for teaching.
Next, Li Mingchen explored the applications and potential of ChatGPT in academic research. Through a systematic and engaging presentation, he explained the background of ChatGPT, the principles of crafting effective GPT prompts, derivative uses of GPT, and practical methods for integrating GPT into research. By sharing concrete examples, he demonstrated how ChatGPT could support academic work and highlighted the significant efficiency gains artificial intelligence brings to research activities.

The two lectures, rich in content and broad in perspective, inspired participants to reflect on teaching and research practices.
The "Young Faculty Development Forum" is an essential initiative of the school, serving as a platform not only for sharing knowledge and experiences but also for sparking intellectual collisions and creative inspiration on the path of young faculty development. The school will continue to adhere to its teacher-centered philosophy, providing diverse platforms for exchange and growth, empowering educators to advance in teaching and research.
