    SEM Successfully Hosts 2024 International Young Scholars "Yueqi Forum" Sub-forum

    On the afternoon of October 11, 2024, SEM successfully hosted the 2024 International Young Scholars "Yueqi Forum" Sub-forum in a strong academic atmosphere. The forum was held both online and offline and brought together 15 outstanding young scholars from renowned universities at home and abroad, including Curtin University of Technology (Australia), Nanjing University, Xiamen University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, Dalian University of Technology, Ocean University of China, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and University of International Business and Economics.

    The forum was attended by the Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Ding Zhihua, the Party Secretary, Sun Yunxiao, Vice Deans Jiang Hongyan and Zhu Xiaodong, as well as heads of various disciplines and department chairs. The forum was chaired by Vice Dean Zhu Xiaodong.

    The forum began with a warm welcome from Dean Ding Zhihua, who expressed his sincere greetings to the young scholars who traveled from afar. He gave a comprehensive introduction to the School of Economics and Management, covering aspects such as its history, disciplines, faculty, and development. Dean Ding emphasized that the school adheres to the development strategy of "strengthening the school through talent," attaches great importance to talent recruitment and training, and is committed to providing the broadest platform for young talents who aspire to academic research and education. He sincerely invited the young scholars to join the School of Economics and Management and contribute to its continued success.

    Vice Dean Zhu Xiaodong then delivered a detailed presentation on the school’s talent recruitment policies. He introduced the various supporting policies of the School of Economics and Management and provided a thorough comparison of different recruitment channels, such as postdoctoral fellows, faculty postdoctoral fellows, and positions for associate professors and lecturers. Vice Dean Zhu stated that the school would offer the most favorable treatment and comprehensive support to every young scholar who joins, allowing them to thrive in the fertile ground of the School of Economics and Management.

    Following the introduction, the young scholars gave fascinating presentations on their personal backgrounds, research areas, academic achievements, and career plans. They shared their experiences in academic research and demonstrated their outstanding accomplishments and promising prospects in their respective fields. In-depth discussions were held on research planning, talent recruitment policies, faculty development, and support measures, creating a lively and harmonious atmosphere.

    After ample communication and exchange, the school reached preliminary recruitment intentions with over ten young scholars. The success of this forum fully demonstrates the School of Economics and Management’s strong commitment to talent recruitment and its determination to attract high-level talent. It is believed that in the near future, more excellent young scholars will join the faculty, contributing their wisdom and strength to the prosperous development of the school.
