
The national finals of the 10th National College Student Energy Economics Innovation Competition recently concluded at China University of Geosciences (Beijing). Students from our school achieved outstanding results, securing one Grand Prize, two First Prizes, three Second Prizes, and six Third Prizes. Among the winners, the team led by Wang Juan won the "Best Innovation and Entrepreneurship Design Award" in the postgraduate category.
The National College Student Energy Economics Innovation Competition is a prestigious national event organized by the Operations Research Society of China. Recognized in the 2023 National General College Student Competition Analysis Report, it is the most influential and authoritative competition in the field of energy economics in China. This year’s competition attracted unprecedented participation, with 17,994 teams from 561 universities and nearly 100,000 participants nationwide. Following university-level and provincial-level selections, 895 projects advanced to the national competition. After rounds of communication reviews and expert evaluations, 148 projects from 90 universities were selected for the finals.
SEM has always placed great emphasis on cultivating students’ innovation capabilities and awareness of energy economics. Moving forward, the school aims to contribute to the nation’s “Dual Carbon” strategy by focusing on green and high-quality development, exploring frontier topics in energy economics, and fostering innovative solutions. By optimizing the talent cultivation model, the school seeks to nurture more outstanding talents in the energy economics field, contributing to China’s energy transition and green development.
