Recently, the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the Business Graduates Association (BGA) sent a letter to the School of Economics and Management (SEM), granting the MBA program of China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) the AMBA accreditation, and granting the School of Economics and Management (SEM) the BGA Gold accreditation. Both accreditations are for the maximum period of 5 years. This is the re-accreditation of the School of Economics and Management after it successfully passed the first accreditation of AMBA in 2020.

May 23-24, Professor STEVEN LEENDERT VAN DE VELDE (School of Management, Netherlands Erasmus University), Professor Wang Zhongming, Professor Yang Zhi(Dean of School of Management, Huazhong University of Science and Technology), and Mr. JOSEPH PILKINGTON, Senior Accreditation Manager of AMBA&BGA as members of the Accreditation Expert Group, carried out a two-day comprehensive questioning and comprehensive evaluation of the School of Economics and Management by way of offline accreditation (the first one in China since the epidemic). President Song Xuefeng, Director Zhang Zhenkang of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the leadership team of the School of Economics and Management, program directors, faculty representatives, members of the MBA Education Center, key employers, outstanding alumni, excellent student representatives, and staff representatives attended and participated in the various inspection and assessment sessions at the accreditation site.
President Song Xuefeng met with the Accreditation Panel and delivered a speech, expressing his gratitude to AMBA and BGA for their contributions in promoting the quality improvement of global business education and international cooperation. He said that the university attaches great importance to the accreditation work of AMBA and BGA, and considers that the accreditation of AMBA is the passport for School of Economics and Management to be among the international stage of higher business education and to become an internationally renowned business school, and it is the guarantee mechanism for the continuous growth and improvement of the school under the driving of the mission and strategy. During the meeting, the members of the expert group and President Song Xuefeng had an in-depth discussion on the situation of the school's disciplines and specialties, school running characteristics, faculty, scientific research, talent cultivation, international exchanges and cooperation, and service industry and regional economic development.

On behalf of the School, Mr. Li Xinchun, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, reported to the expert group on the development strategy of the school, the corrective measures after the first accreditation, and the continuous improvement of AMBA&BGA. Based on the content of the report, the expert group discussed the development of the college with the leadership team of the college, and carried out targeted questioning and Q&A on the competitiveness of the college, talent cultivation, scientific research and innovation in the light of the college's SAR self-assessment report and the 14th Five-Year Development Plan. President Li Xinchun said that the joint accreditation of AMBA & BGA is an important tool to test the development results of the school, and the school will make continuous improvement based on the assessment opinions and suggestions of the expert group and benchmarking against the advanced ones.

The expert team members critically examined the relevant accreditation materials of the school by reviewing the materials of the Visiting Room (Baseroom); and met with representatives of the faculty, staff of the MBA Education Center, alumni, key employers, and student representatives to solicit their evaluation and comments on the school.
