    Speaker Introduction

    Wang Mingzheng is a Professor at the School of Management, Zhejiang University, and serves as the Deputy Head of the Department of Data Science and Management Engineering. He holds key positions in multiple academic organizations, including:

    • Vice Chairman, Logistics System Engineering Committee of the Chinese Society for Systems Engineering

    • Vice Chairman, E-Commerce and Cyberspace Management Committee of the Chinese Modernization Research Association

    • Vice Chairman, Network Science Committee of the Chinese Society for Management Science and Engineering

    Research Focus

    Professor Wang’s research interests span several cutting-edge fields, including:

    • ESG and sustainable supply chain management

    • New retail operations and supply chain management

    • Digital and intelligent operations on platforms

    • Data-driven decision-making and data economics

    • Big data analysis and statistical optimization

    • Online learning optimization algorithms

    • Deep reinforcement learning algorithms

    • Intelligent logistics optimization models and algorithms

    • Business analytics and decision intelligence

    Academic Achievements

    Professor Wang has published over 70 papers in prestigious international and domestic journals, including Operations Research, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, INFORMS Journal on Computing, IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, EJOR, IIPE, TRE, and IEEE Transactions SMC-S. His work has been recognized with multiple best paper awards at top-tier international conferences such as INFORMS-DS, ICIS, and POMSICC.

    Projects and Collaborations

    In recent years, Professor Wang has led:

    • A Key Project and a Key International Collaboration Project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).

    • Collaborations with national initiatives such as major technology projects, research innovation groups, and the 863 Program.

    Currently, he is managing NSFC key projects on:

    1.     Operational Management Theories and Methods for New Retail Models

    2.     Intelligent Operational Coordination for On-demand Retail Platforms

    He actively collaborates with enterprises such as JD Logistics, Meituan, Alibaba’s Freshippo (Hema), and Ele.me to address real-world operational challenges by leveraging data and model-driven decision optimization methods.
