    Speaker Introduction

    Professor Ping Weiying is the Dean of the School of Statistics and Data Science at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics. She is a second-tier professor, doctoral supervisor, and recipient of several prestigious honors, including the Ministry of Education’s "Young Changjiang Scholars" title and the State Council Special Allowance for Experts.

    She serves as the chief expert of a major National Social Science Fund project and has been awarded the Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation Teaching Award. Her academic roles include:

    • Vice President of the Chinese Statistical Education Society

    • Deputy Director of the National Industrial Statistics Teaching and Research Association

    • Executive Council Member of the Chinese Statistical Association

    • President of the Youth Economic Statistics Scholars Division of the Chinese Statistical Education Society

    Professor Ping specializes in economic statistics theory and methods, as well as quantitative economic data science. Her achievements have been recognized with awards such as the National Bureau of Statistics Science and Technology Progress Award and the First Prize of the Jiangxi Provincial Social Science Excellent Achievement Award.

    Committed to cultivating talents, she has developed six nationally and provincially recognized "Golden Courses" such as Learning Statistics with Ease and published three textbooks, earning 10 Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards. She has also led numerous initiatives, including provincial-level exemplary graduate supervisor teams and high-level teaching teams.

    Professor Ping has successfully directed several major and key projects funded by the National Social Science Fund and the Ministry of Education. She has published numerous papers in top journals like Management World and Statistical Research, authored seven monographs, and undertaken over 20 post-evaluation projects commissioned by the State Council’s Poverty Alleviation Office and the National Rural Revitalization Administration.

    Her honors include being recognized as an “Advanced Individual in Third-Party Evaluation of Poverty Alleviation Achievements” by the National Rural Revitalization Administration and receiving the “Outstanding Cadre with Dedication and Responsibility” title in Jiangxi Province’s "New Era Pioneers" initiative.
